'70 Chevrolet Hubcaps

Pair of hubcaps from a '70 C-10. I'm not 100% sure what other years these hubcaps were available. No rot, very solid, just surface touchup rust. $25 for the pair.

Correct for 69-72 1/2 ton 2 or 4wd, though I've never seen a set of painted 4x4 front dog dish caps with center hub cutout to go with a set of painted rear.

What yards are you going to Adam?

VTKidder- I have two of these too if you are interested, or if the guy who buys yours needs a full set. Mine don't look quite as good, but just surface rust I think. If you email me I will send you a few pics. Averyarc@comcast.net. Not trying to steal the thread, just wanting to help sell yours if someone needs a complete set.

Jeff,

Thanks for the info. I actually saw a set of these with the front 2 cutout on a '71 4x4 burb up in Buttcrackville, VT (honestly, I don't know if I could find it again). There was a burb, a few SWB 4x4's and about 30 other junkers around, but apparently it's a business; had a sign hanging on the garage with hours, about 5 no tresspassing signs and a couple german shepherds that looked like they wanted a piece of me if I came close. I've been going to Gates Salvage in Hardwick, VT. They have probably 7 or 8 10-30 series, and maybe another 15 40-60 series in various states of rot. There's another place in Plainfield, VT I am going this weekend, a guys private house, that used to be a muscle car collector, so around his house, you can easily find probably 200-300 firebirds, camaros, novas, mustangs, vettes, chevelles, etc., and scattered through there are trucks. He said he has probably 15 67-72's. I'll let you know how it works out.

Diane,

Thanks for the info. I kind of liked these hubcaps more than the set of full chrome ones I bought earlier, but oh well. I'm sure between the 2 of us, we can move some caps!

Yes, I've been to Gates several times, know it well. Bet you didn't find and tach dashes in those series 40-60's did ya?

I think that guy in Plainfield had his collection and property on ebay for sale a couple of times. If it's the same guy.

I'd be lying if I said that tach dash sitting in my living room didn't come from a '68 C-60 out in the WAY back field! Don't waste your time looking there for another one though; after finding that jewel, I scoured the whiz out of that whole yard looking for another one. Found 2 or 3 vacuum gauges, but that's about it.

I think you're right now that I think about it with that guy in Plainfield. If I'm not mistaken, he wanted something like $2,000,000 starting bid for it! I think you'd have to do some SERIOUS parts pulling to get $2M in parts from there. I bet it could be done, but wow...I didn't know my from a hole in the ground the first time I went there probably 5 years ago, so I didn't appreciate what I was looking at. I'll take it in this weekend. Last time I was there, one of his dogs grabbed me by the ankle and took me down in his driveway! Half a dozen mean dogs are reason enough to steer clear of trying to steal stuff. A little intimidation goes a LONG way!

Gotta leave a few crumbs for the Mice!

That back field seems to be filling up over the past couple of years.

BTW, I know where there is a set of 72 Blazer buckets but I'd have to kill ya if I told ya. HINT: It's not in Hardick

Eh, I'm not into having buckets in my truck, so you might as well tell me where they are (trying the 'ol reverse psychology thing) . Seriously, for some reason, buckets have never done anything for me. I know they look cool and are a collectable item, but I'd rather have a nice looking bench in good shape. Probably makes me crazy. Were they in a blazer at Gates? I was there this past weekend, and grabbed a drivers seat knob for Diane (1970Blazin) out of a '70 K5 that was 3 cars high in a stack waiting for the crusher . It had nice blue plaid buckets. The backs were metal, and appeared to be very low. Maybe mid-shoulder level if you were sitting in them. Did they make a higher backed bucket in trucks? The passengers seat had a lever that tilted it forward. They were in very usable shape, but I didn't bother. If you're interested, they're easy to remove and could probably be scored for $50. I pulled the drivers seat out without unbolting it; just tore it through the floor! There was another grey 69 or 70 K5 (no inner grille to tell year) that had buckets, but unfortunately, had the windshield frame bend down over the top of them, and the fiberglass top in about 30 pieces thrown into the mix; a definite chore to get, and a sad sight indeed. (There were no rear seat hold downs either; usually the next question when talking about a blazer!
