Cheyenne Super question
Hey fellas, Im currently trying to buy a 71 Cheyenne Super from an older gentleman here local. It is a SWB and originally White/Blue/White. It has all the standard Super options, woodgrain dash and glovebox. Scrolled and woodgrain door panels, chrome tailgate handle(thought that was 72 only?) houndstooth seat upper and lower trim. However, it is 6cyl, 3OTT, no power anything.and non AC/ radio delete Seemed funny the original owner wanted two tone and woodgrain but nothing else. lol. Hope to pick this up this week and will get pics if I can pry it from him! Was it uncommon for these to be so low optioned?

Re: Cheyenne Super question
In 71 the whole handle was chrome in 72 it was just a stainless handle cover. Here's a post with a low optioned Super: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=534042 I'll bet yours is the real deal. Good luck Pete

Re: Cheyenne Super question
That is an unusual build but not unknown. Somebody wanted a flashy cheap truck. The Cheyenne Super option was about $350 on top of the $2800 a base Fleetside would run, big percentage there (12.5%) for a trim option. An L47/402 keeping the 3OTT would have been about $300 by itself. A/C would have been over $400 dollars to put these in cost prospective.

Re: Cheyenne Super question
A 4.3 V-6 and a 5 speed would be a nice swap in such a light truck.

Re: Cheyenne Super question
It will wind up an automatic truck if I can get him to part with it. Not sure on the engine choice though.

Re: Cheyenne Super question
Would it be possible to see the SPID and a build sheet? its probably a Fremont (Z) built truck, right?

Re: Cheyenne Super question
Tim you are correct in assuming Fremont, no build sheet as the seat had been recovered before I got the truck. I am installing a rebuilt brake booster at the moment so give me a bit to post pic of SPID.

Re: Cheyenne Super question
Sounds like a neat truck. If you work out a deal, let me know. I would like to check it out and I am having some paint/body work being completed (on another project) by a guy that lives relatively close to you.
