Ok I'm bagging the 72' for sure now. What I need to know is how low its going to sit without a notch or drop spindles(to come later!) I did a picture in photshop of what I'd like to get without the notch and spindles. Am I being realistic or dreaming? All help is appreciated!

I think you are dreaming

You'll need a c-notch and spindles to get it that low.

Here is a picture of mine with the bags empty, c-notched, and 2.5" spindles.

Your picture is a little deceptive. My first reaction was the same as Slammed67 but on a second look you can might get there. You can get about 3 inches in front and about 4 inches in the rear without a notch or spindles. The ride will be stiff and harsh. Buy the 3 inch drop springs and 4 inch spings for the rear. First take look at the ECE website...I think they have examples of the stance with each combination of lowering springs, spindles etc.

I'm going to be putting bags front and back and if my calculations serve me correct I should be able to get close to 3in more in the front and about 4 in the back when its aired out. Eventually I'll get spindles and a notch, just not yet.

I think realicly you may get a drop to the top of the wheels with your fender wells, you wheels will not be tucked. also looks like your wheels are to large to tuck from the pic. I am currently looking int the same, i would like a 2" gap between the top of the tire and the wells in front and maybe 3-4" in the rears, might look sharp, not raked, slammed just a soft drop

Primeredthunder, Where are you at in Salem? I was there last weekend down by Creekside Golf Course. I did Minto Park and downtown Starbucks. Saw a nice blue and white slammed burb the last time I was there.

I live in NE Salem. You should have went down to the cruise-in at the Blue Moon Cafe. It's Every Saturday nite and is the biggest Cruise-In in oregon, I usually take the 72' down there every Saturday I'm home. Maybe if your down again we can cruise down there sometime.

Well, you can easily take out your rear springs and let the axle rest on the frame. Then you will see how low the rear can go. What size wheels are on your truck now?

Yeah once the the 72' moves from daily driver status to weekend cruiser then I'll be able to pull the springs and see what I'm going to get. I'm running P275/60R15's in back on 15x10 wheels, and P235/60R15's with 15x8's in front.

71-longbed you should definatley check out the cruise-in this saturday. I'll shoot you a PM with my contact info, maybe we can meet up down there.

Guys, you're missing the whole picture here. You can easily drop one 6 inches in the rear with springs and no c-notch. So, it stands to reason that you can drop it at least 6 in the back using bags too. If you want to "air it out" and settle all the way, it's going to be more like 9 inches till it touches the axle to frame.

I'm with Tx firefighter here... By looking at my truck if I took the springs out, with my 275/60/15's on 8" rallies The tire would be at the point on the first pic. btw I don't have a notch or bags just 4" drop springs for now.... Oh and in the front, You should be able to tuck tire b/c I have 2.5" spindles and 1.5" springs in the front and I have about 1.5" or so until my tire tucks in behind the outer fender. With stock spindles and bags I think you could get the tire to tuck but not rim.

I have the bags installed with no notch or drop spindles...heres my most recent pic. However, a step-notch and Drop spindles are in the plans for this winter

The wheels are made by a company called Allied and are their Series 62 wheel. The wheels are 15x8 and 15x10's. However, because of some clearance issues, I am going to have to sell my rear tires and wheels..so if anyone wants them...15x10 and P275/60/R15 tires,lots of tread and the wheels only have about 2k on them.
