SSTim- thank you. Wasn't sure if it was SPID worthy. It's an Oregon truck
 no emissions. So far no build sheet. My guess is it's a mouse nest by now. I'm second owner. First owner put 90k on it, hit a deer in 94, where it sat under its camper until a friend pulled it out of the briars a couple months ago. In the info it says the carb could be a Rochester or carter. Is one better than the other? Any idea on what they go for? NOS? I learned more on this site today than I learned all last month on other sites! Whew! Posted via Mobile Device

Carter built Quadrajets under license from Rochester. In my opinion, one's not really better than the other, but I'd probably look for a Rochester if you're going all original.
As for cost, local cost (and condition) will vary widely. I know you can get a rebuilt Quadrajet from Summit for about $300. |
