72 c-10 long bed 350 to 454 swap ???'s
Doing a frame-up on my 72 Cheyenne. 350 in it is not numbers matching so looking at some other options. Found a 454-700R4 combo complete to drop in at a reasonible price. ?'s are, other than engine mounts and a 4-row radiator, what else needs attention? Currently in process of replacing all steering and suspension bushings. Was going with a 1-3 drop to level it out, but was wondering if the added weight of the 454 if I should use stock fronts with the 3" drop rears.

You will need front springs with the correct rate for a big block. Leaving the sb springs will give you a drop but handle terribly. Does the BBC have a front accessory drive? You can use the 73 and later lwp pulleys and brackets. It's cheaper but I prefer the original look of the 68-72 Swp set ups. 72 had one year only alt brackets and clamshell style motor mounts. These were one year only as well, but you can use 68-71 or 73 up, which are very similar to 72's. Either way, you'll regret trying to use SBC stands instead of the correct BBC. You can use the search function to find a lot BBC 72 swap infoon this forum.
