Avs air bag kit

I bought a full air bag kit from AVS. It came with the instruction on the wire and the air line , but not on the instillation of the bag and the brackets I have the fronts figured out but for the life of me can't get the backs. If anybody has done one of these can you reply with picture or point me toward the right way. Thanks in advance.

Re: Avs air bag kit

Don't know what the kit would involve for the back. You can typically use the same bolt from the bottom of the trailing arm to bolt the bag to it. The top will take some drilling into the frame for you to line up the thread holes.

Take some pics of what you got and we'll know better about what you have.

Re: Avs air bag kit

Yes, it must. I've never used an upper bracket. I just align the bolt holes, measured, drilled and bolted them to the frame. I'm assuming you can do that with that also, but don't know why you'd need that between the frame and the bag.

Posted via Mobile Device Here is the cups there are two of these and two that are shorter, these have the holes for the air fitting to come through. But how would these mount and stay on frame or trailing arms.

Re: Avs air bag kit

I really don't think you need brackets for the rear. I'm guessing you bought a universal kit and you won't need everything in your kit.

Re: Avs air bag kit

The shorter one is probably the front. Also, to get the front a little lower you can shave 5/8 of an inch off of the cup and then put it in.

Posted via Mobile Device This is a side view on the first bracket. It fits the frame good, but it does not allow the air bag to be mounted where the air fitting is on top.

Re: Avs air bag kit

Does your bags have studs coming out of them or are threaded into them?

Re: Avs air bag kit

That's the bottom that bolts to the trailing arm.

Re: Avs air bag kit

Posted via Mobile Device Would you drill hole in frame big enough for the fitting to go through or maybe use that bracket and drill that out for.

Re: Avs air bag kit

Probably just use the bracket as a template of where to drill.

Re: Avs air bag kit

So you just use the center hole and use a 3/8 bolt and go up through the trailing arm?

Re: Avs air bag kit

The fitting will go just right beside the frame? Have not tried that yet, I was thinking I was going to be using the brackets.

Re: Avs air bag kit

Yes, just use the center hole. You might be able to position it where you don't need to drill a hole for the air line.
