Central MO members

Was talking to the manager at my local O'Reilly's today, and he was telling me somewhere outside of Linn there's a salvage yard with a bunch of 60-66 trucks as well as a lot of older cars and trucks. Said they also do restorations and resell and that they do sell parts and complete vehicles. He couldn't remember exactly where it was or what it was called. I know there's a few on here from the Jeff City, Fulton areas would anyone have a clue about this place? I'd like to make a trip if I can run it down.

Ill spread the word if I ever find it. After I've picked through it first, of course.

Are you on post there? I used to go to Poor Boys auto salvage over there, was on the right side of MO ave before you got to the gate. Seems like you had to go behind a strip mall or something to get there, you know if they're still in business?

Yeah, I'm on post here. I actually live in Plato but go through the south gate for work. I have never seen that place when driving through St Robert, I just looked it looks like its off a small road before the gate like you said, never knew it was there! I have to check it out now, I just drove past there an hour ago when I went to get my haircut and stop into work for a little bit. Ill try to check it out this week and let you know but I work 16 hours a day 6 days a week, so I may not have time. Keep me updated!

Not aware of a yard out around the Linn area. I work with a few people from there and will check with them this week.

Since you're from Eldon... do you know anything about "The Carburetor Shop?"

He used to rebuild older carbs. Now I think he's just selling the rebuild kits, not doing any work. I've never had him to do anything for me personally and honestly have not heard much about him either good or bad, but I do remember seeing some of his ads back in the late 80's early 90's in CarCarft and possibly some of the Mopar mags. Been running radio ads lately advertising his rebuild kits for just about anything pre smog.

It's been 20+ years since I've been there, and back then I was getting 70's Ford truck parts. Have no idea what they would have now but it might be worth checking out if you get a chance.
