1972 Jimmy 4wd Small hub or Big hub?
Have a question for you guys.... Started my winter project tearing apart the axles on my 1972 jimmy. The front axle looks to be the original Dana 44 however some previous owner swapped one of the spindle/hub assemblies. So, I have one large bearing spindle and one small......So the question I have is which one is original and second which is stronger. I'm assuming that the smaller is original and the larger in newer???? Also, which one is better??? Can any one help???

Smaller spindle is original - larger is newer and uses larger wheel bearings which would make it stronger.
8-lug Dana 44s use the larger spindle but no reason it can't be 6-lug. |
