Wanted factory wood floored fleet side bed
I am looking for a factory wood floored fleet side bed for a 73-87 Chevy truck. I just need the wood bed specific parts but will buy a whole bed if the price is right. If you have the bed specific parts and want to ship them let me know.
Thanks, Frank Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Wanted factory wood floored fleet side bed
Chevrolet never made a factory wood floored fleet side bed. They stopped that option in 1972. The only thing you could get a wood floor in from 73-87 was a stepside. Some companies do make kits that lay over your factory steel floor and look pretty nice.

Re: Wanted factory wood floored fleet side bed
Not so grasshopper. The wood bed was an option in long bed fleet sides only. Never a short bed fleet sidein the US. I want to shorten one up and put it in my '76 short fleet. They are not very common and that's probably you didn't know that they existed.

Re: Wanted factory wood floored fleet side bed
what about a show deck?
they are wood bed kits for fletside shortbeds and install over the metal floor, then you can unbolt 2 strips and remove them to haul things without damaging the wood. Stacey David installed one on the project knuckle buster 73 fleet shortbed he did. If not then I would buy a stepside kit, get extra boards and strips and make it work.

I thought about the show deck but they just do not look right when the tailgate is dropped.

not a problem, just passing the info along, wasn't sure if you knew about them or not.
