If you got a complete 4x4 frame that helps alot. If not you can purchase all the bracketry you need. Are you lifting it or stock ride height? What drivetrain are you going to use?

Yeah see if you can find a parts truck that's a 4x4 it will be easier.Drive train depends a lot on how he will use the truck anything from a small block to a cummins can be done.

Re: 82 2wd 3500 crew to a 4wd

I'm not sure how much the suburban frames and truck frames are the same but i have a suburban frame from the transfer case crossmember to the very front so if their the same and you need measurements i can get them

I'm pretty sure the front body/spring mount is the same but LMC does not sell the whole piece so i suggest this one in its place http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?rout...product_id=121 although you will have to use a rear spring in its place because these are designed for those which are apparently not as wide as original springs but that shouldn't be a big ordeal.

#19 from the LMC catalog will give you the rear spring piece

As far as the rear end of these trucks i know the spring hangars are shorter on the 2wd trucks as opposed to the 4wds which LMC also sells
