These are ECE/Canada approved and SAE US approved for motorcycles.

The US DOT had a boner for a long time against E-code lights, they still don't like the sharp cutoff of the ECE lights though they approved them a long time ago for motorcycles and emergency vehicles.

Been running them for 30 years now in various vehicles...

Okay I always thought ECE was for left hand traffic only but I see now that's not the case but Canada and USA are both SAE. The number after the ECE marking designates the county approval

The pictures below look like they are aimed hi because I am sitting on top of a hill leading down into the garage. Low beam top pic, hi beam bottom pic.

Re: Hella H4 conversion kit

Kinda late into this one but.....There are some HID kits out there for the H4 application that actually have their own glare shields built into the bulbs. Im running a 6000K kit that has them in Diamond cut housings on my '89.

Here is a shot of the light pattern. I did not re aim them at all since install...i prob should but they dont seem to affect other drivers so never had reason to.

You got any part numbers? I did this swap about a year ago with relays and it looks great. But brighter is better isn't it? Wouldn't mind swapping in some nice HIDs.

Re: Hella H4 conversion kit

I have em in my truck and I'm not terribly impressed.

I have pretty low intensity bulbs in there right now, and would like to upgrade them but I have a couple buddies who have personally burnt out multiple headlight switches because they weren't running a relay. Eventually I'll get some better bulbs and a relay and we'll see what happens.

They will make it 100% brighter. No crap really. I put in the relays, tested wtih the old sealed bulbs and then put in the new H4 bulbs and housings with the relays. Really big difference. You'll love them.
