Re: Anybody running lower then 12s QM?

I wouldn't race against the diesel unless I figure I could jump it by 6 car lengths, that thing is a misguided missile.
An earlier reply said he wouldn't buy a 6.0 LS or LQ because of the cost. Ebay has them complete with entire harnesses, computers, accessories and cats for around $2000 sometimes less. Go to eBay motors search the word "dropout". Such things as a complete LQ9 for $2000 are quite possible, and you can get an aluminum block and heads. That's stock 345 HP.

Re: Anybody running lower then 12s QM?

I think this thread is little more than bench racing at this point. He already went with a 5.3

Re: Anybody running lower then 12s QM?

My 85 ran 11.00s to 11.20s with a 400 sbc and 150 shot on pump gas driving to and from the track with full exhast 3.73 gears and DR's. Very streetable combination and fun to drive 2800 stall speed at 3980 race weight. stock suspension.
Even more streetable with a very mild 454 9 to 1 2400 converter 190 shot 10.90s. the wife drives it more than i do. (race gas on the 190 shot.)

dont forget im sticking with the EFI for turbocharger. got the 5.3 vortec from a salvage yard for less. $250 with aluminum heads equiped, computer for 50 bucks and im looking to go get the wiring harness and fuse box from a pick and pull for cheap. also got a free 4L80E out of a wrecked 01 GMC 2500 conversion van with 6 bolt torque convertor pattern. it says HYDRAMATIC 4L80E in sexy italics on the passenger side. really stoked
