Master cylinder threads
So swapping to power disks, McGaughy m/c. Easiest way to get rid of these threads? I'm not a small guy. It's tight under the dash to get in there to ditch the welds holding em in place.

Re: Master cylinder threads
Are you sure yours are welded? I was able to pop mine out using a dead blow hammer in my 67.

Re: Master cylinder threads
May be another 'gift' from my previous owner. He was terrible with a torch. Underneath the dash, where the base tightens up against the bracket, there are welds on all four studs.

Re: Master cylinder threads
I hate to say it then, but your going to have to cut the welds and then pound them out to do it "right".

Re: Master cylinder threads
Aren't these bolts used for the new setup?

Re: Master cylinder threads
The new power master cylinder has the threads coming from the booster, so the bolts will tighten from the firewall side.

Re: Master cylinder threads
Did you get rid of the stand off bracket that has the pivot to raise the booster? I am not if you can do that can you? I am changing my booster tomorrow and am not sure if the 4 studs from the booster are even the same as the 4 sticking out of the firewall I am interested in seeing your set up

Re: Master cylinder threads
I've seen pictures with the standoff bracket removed. The holes on the standoff don't align. I'll try to post up pictures.
