bedside tool box lock is in!

Wooo Hooo, I finally got the correct bedside tool box lock installed!! One more hole filled with the exact right part! It looks much better. I know, it's a minor thing but it's progress! thanks renokeene

looks good. I had to do the same on mine. The hard part for me was finding, and paying for the trim piece.

Yeah, I took the old lock to Santa Fe Lock and Key (who I'm mentioning because he's GREAT) and he had to take that stainless steel top off to get inside to replace a part and to make a key for it. He had a replacement trim/top/cap for it. The pic is the old piece he had to pry off to get inside.

That's a big deal! Your truck is much more complete and still original. That ain't no part you just go out and grab and you sure can't call LMC and order one.

Now small children won't be sticking their finger in that hole and possibly getting stuck. See,it's a major deal! It must feel good. tiny detail like that can jump out and grab you,even if others don't notice.

thanks for posting the pic dads longhorn. Mine was missing as well so to fill the hole I just put a regular door lock in it, now I know what a real one looks like
