Heater core question on 67 with ac
Ok, I'm taking the ac unit out of my 67 truck.
I have looked at several posts online and on this forum and am still a bit confused about how i can make this work. What i would like to do is take out my ac equipment and just keep the bare bones heater to keep my toes warm. Sounds easy enough but alot of posts are talking about delete plates, holes not lining up, ect. So someone please point me in the right direction. Green truck is mine below. Red truck below is a non -AC 68, but the way its set up has me thinking I can just modify mine and make it work. Can I use my existing AC housing and throw a new heater core and heater motor in there? or Is my existing AC housing set up in such a way I can not interchange the parts? Ultimately I would really like someone to tell me how to just "Delete" all the housing like the last pic. I would really like to make it work. However in the last pic I have no idea where the heater core would go other than passenger side of the firewall.. The last pic looks cleaner, however my fear is that this truck does not have "heat or AC " of any kind because I have no idea where the heater motor is located and where he is drawing his heat from. So if that is the case in the last pic, then I revert back to the second pic. Yes I have seen this, but seems way to much money.. http://www.acdelete.com/ Thank you and Eventually I'm going to be selling the AC equipment if people are interested. |

Re: Heater core question on 67 with ac
Read your post twice and just trying to figure out what you're trying to accomplish. Do you just not like the A/C unit? Or is it not working properly?
A lot of owners would rather have the A/C and modifying the truck to a non A/C one would be a step backwards. I'd almost look around for a non A/C truck or non A/C cab to swap out.

Re: Heater core question on 67 with ac
if it needs a heater core and blower just but it in and keep the a/c set up, down the road you will be glad you kelp the full a/c set up.
