That is the most stylish 60-66 commercial rig I’ve ever seen. Love the photo too with the moon perfectly positioned!

Re: 1965 GMC 3500 Rescue Squad
Oh that would make SUCH a great tow-rig for a race car!
It'd also make an awesome RV... It even has a back deck. -Brad

Re: 1965 GMC 3500 Rescue Squad
slam it, put some woofers in the back, and a pair of fuzzy dice and you're in business
j/k - it's a great looking truck! Are you showing it any?

Re: 1965 GMC 3500 Rescue Squad
Thanks Every one.
The Truck was in service up to about 2004 in Manville New Jesey, then was sold to a 2nd owner in a near by town. I bought the truck this summer and had it trucked out form NJ to Utah in June. It needed some work as the exhuast pipe broke in transit and it was not charging. also the lights it had on the roof did not work very well. I replced the 105 amp alt with a 165 unit that is smaller, then had the exhuast welded back together, and changeed the lights on the top, back dating then to lights like one would find in the 60s and not the 70s. July 4th 2012 the truck made its first public apeerance in the Honeyville City 4th of July Parade, then was on display in the City Park. I din't get much time during the summer to show it as I spent most of most of my summer driving tour bus in Yellowsotne Park.

Re: 1965 GMC 3500 Rescue Squad
I did take the weekend of Brigham City's Peach Days off to show the truck at the Peach Days Car show.
I had the side doors open showing off the Onan Electric Plant that is on the truck. More Peach Days.

Re: 1965 GMC 3500 Rescue Squad
I just posted a few more pics in the following album:
Jolly's 1965 GMC Rescue Quad I have been driving the truck around locally and shooting photos of it at some of the local Historic & Fun places. The Body on the back was build by an outfit in NJ called Black Built Bodies, The firm built a few automobile-based ambulances for regional rescue squads starting in the late 20s. Their mid-1930s models were attractive, emulating the style of the major mid-west manufacturers. Production continued into the early 1970s using Ford, Chevrolet and GMC vans and Suburbans. Black also built rescue bodies for regional fire and civil defense agencies on light and medium duty chassis from the 30s through the 1970s. Known customers included fire and rescue agencies in Saddle Brook, Point Pleasant Beach, Boonton, & Manville New Jersey as well as Greenwich, Connecticut. In conjunction with United Parcel Service engineers, Adam Black & Sons helped design the now-infamous P600 package delivery truck that was introduced in 1966. Black also received a portion of the contract to build the P600, but as they did not have the capacity to build the numbers required by UPS, two other manufacturers, Union City and Grumman-Olson also produced the P600. So there is your history leason for today.
