Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Well down to fixing my wipers.....
It was a bad install we had to mod the brackets to get it to fit in and work. I am guessing we had to move the motor a 1" towards the passenger side to get them to stay together and go all the way through the rotation. They worked in the shop, but when used in the rain they locked all the way in the open postion after about 15 mins. I had them all the way down in the begining but it's almost like they went 1/2" to far open on the curve of the glass and locked there. Everything is new the motor, wiper arm, blades ,and the air conditioning does no favours to any of the wiper stuff. So thats my next job....get up under the dash ,which is now a huge pain in the butt with all the stuff i have crammed up in there......I am actually wondering if i can reach through the glove box and give the linkage a nudge and see if that free's it up and then coat the windshield and blades in rainex to see if that helps...After i check the fuse and power all out of course

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Well ...
I have already lined up the next few projects and ordered the parts....

- 66 short box that needs some love.....
-65 thats a full ground up that i stopped half way to finish the 58.....
-Street legal buggy that i blew a head gasket on....
-66 prostreet truck
-69 Z/28 repaint and repower with a new 302 zapper
- 93 crew cab dually needs a little TLC and i need to see how that monster C notch and bags will do if i go to a 5th wheel set up. After all that trailer voo doo i had i am thinking i should be using the dually more to tow....
-Shop addition...
- And the rest of the field of dreams.....about 5 more 64-66's and a 72 longhorn

I am tired already just looking at that list....crap

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

hey I know what is like to have a list of stuff to do. Seems like you might never get to some of the stuff cause you got 2-3 full builds in front of the next. Then something always goes wrong in between. Like say a garage door breaking, then all your daily vehicles need work ahhhhh the list goes on. I wish I could work on these everyday cause one day a week aint cutting it.

Did you get the new bed put in? sorry if I missed that. any footage of the truck?

Well i left the bed the way it was so far.....It was at my buddies shop and the insurance might pay fo it so waiting to see how that goes. It's a big job with that c4 read end , double battery trays, and the fuel tank, air tank......lots of stuff will have to come out in order to reach the bed bolts. The weather really hasn't been good enough to make a video clip just yet but as soon as we get a break in the weather I will get something rolling....

Well Randy glad to hear your progress report. Good to hear that you got it down to the fine hairs. Dually would be a great idea for trailer pulling.

Well it drives like a dream...
There are a few things that i can honestly say i am going to adjust ,finish or change.......but it's so nice having a truck that drives i really don't want to take anything apart......lol.

- Adjust the shift point lower...it's shifting at too high of RPM right now and it's a bit squirrley like that.

-Still need to fix the wipers and i have been putting that off because I think i am going to have to pull out the seat and the console and some of the AC to get into it. So thats going to be when i have the boys come over one sunday when it's raining.

-Still need to charge the AC

- If i have a complaint about the truck it's that with the upgrades the short wheelbase makes it difficult to control it and keep it on the road.....lol

Now for the reasons why i haven't been all over this lately.....Most of you know i have a few other trucks/projects . Well I kinda ripped one apart the otherday and have been working on it like a madman....I haven't started a thread for it just yet. If i get a chance today I might get on that....my bad.

Dude.....
I don't ever want to hear you mention the words rain.....snow....cold or too hot....I wanted to take the 58 out yesturday . Well i had it parked in my shop with out the heat on and the fricken air values froze and i couldn't lift it....I had to fire up the heat put fans under it......bla bla bla.....until i could get the thing to lift. But I did get it rolling and manage to launch it hard a couple of times. I left 60 feet of posi 14" wide a couple of times and dude that truck is fast......lol......and if that truck is going to arizona i am going with it....lol.

I haven't fixed the wipers on the 58 yet because I am working on my 66 low and go ......and am back on my 66 street truck.....and my buddies 53. I have to knock some of this stuff out so i can get back on my pro truck, thats the build all of my buddies want to help out on.....Then i have the entire field of dreams.....Dude i need to clone myself or get a elf to work in my shop while i sleep...
