Seat swap legroom
I plan on replacing my factory 51 seat with a 88-98 Gm full size bench seat .I do not want to relocate my brand new fuel tank . Any thoughts on how much space I will gain ? Any photo's that might show the space ? Truck is in storage .Any help appreciated .

Re: Seat swap legroom
The factory seats in the AD will last a long time, you can gain more room if you remove the springs on the back cushion and build a plywood insert and foam cushion.
I kept the stock tank behind the seat and everything fits!

Re: Seat swap legroom
I've had a lot of seats in my truck over the past 40 years and the most comfortable was the stock seat that a friend in Texas redid for me when I built the truck the first time.
Done right and maybe with flat springs rather than coil springs you could gain a few inches by modifying the leanback and still have a comfortable seat.
