New website up ... check out old '63 pic ...

Our website for ACC just started yesterday afternoon...

It is still "underconstruction", and we will be adding pics/expanding as we go.

Single page so far ...

The web designer pull a few pics from the FB page.

I was cool to see an old pic of the Black '63 !

My garage pic of the wagon has to go, but it'll get there !!!

What you all think of the logo ???

I notice that you are using Yahoo sitebuilder. If you are paying for webspace, and your web designer is a professional, I would not use that to create it. I would suggest a wordpress site with nextgen gallery if you're going to put a lot of pictures up, especially if you want to be able to add new ones yourself. They are both free, and they make it easier to maintain, even for people that aren't HTML savvy, plus there are tools to make it very easy to optimize it for search engines if you ever want anyone to find it.

I think the logo is to busy / hard to reproduce.

It all depends how you want to use it though.

Re: New website up ... check out old '63 pic ...

ChiefRocka,

I am a programmer, and while I was still going through school, I did a lot of website work, and I'm just telling you what made my customers feel happiest, and most in control.

Right now, one of the best ways to get traffic to the average small business site is to write about what your business does on a blog. Google sees all the content about the same subject and knows it is a good place to send people to, especially if other similar sites link to it as well.

That's certainly not all there is to search engine rankings, but it is one thing that goes a long way.

With software like wordpress, you can add new content, edit content, add pictures and galleries and show them in user friendly ways with very little work, and no knowledge of HTML. Once it is setup the way you like it, it's not much more difficult than using this forum.

Anyway, I suggest wordpress because it is easy to use, the most popular and it is free. Because of that there is tons of documentation on using it and modifying it. Customers like it because if the original designer happens to no longer be an appropriate fit for some reason or another, almost any website designer of average experience can pick up where the previous one left off with little to no effort, which translates to lower costs. Also, non technophobes can usually figure out how to modify it themselves to their needs.

Anyway, I have my ideas about how things work best, but as with just about everything technical, there are many ways to skin a cat, and there are about as many ideas on what is best as there are programmers. I'm more of a keep it simple kind of guy.

Anyway, good luck with it. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
