Temp Gauge marks
What doe the Quarter mark on the gauge suppose to represent temp wise? I want to say 160. I know the straight up mark is 210.
I would like to hear What T-stat are you running & where does you gauge sit?

The second mark - 1/2 way between 100 & 210 - indicates 155 degrees.
With a 195 degree t-stat installed, the needle on a stock dash temperature indicator will generally settle out just to the left of the 210 mark - maybe an 1/8" away. |

Looking at the gauge one would assume the first QT mark between 100 & 210 would be 150-155 like you say. I've read some people say the First QT mark is 175-180. Kinda what I was thinking. Anyone run a mechanical temp gauge too & compare it to the stock gauge? Like to hear more input from everyone, Where your gauge temp sits & what Tstat are you running?

I run a 180* thermostat and the needle settles just past the first mark. My fan is set to come on at 200* and it comes on when the needle is just below the 210* mark. Old gauge seems to work pretty good. Temperture readings on the computer also match with the gauge pretty close (TPI setup)...The gauge that scares me is the oil pressure. Never see more then 30 and after running for a while it settles in around 20.
