Re: The most meticulously documented and maintained 72 Suburban in existence

Funny stuff, put a smile on my here face early in the morning.
The curtains reminds me of my dads van in the early `70s. A lot of road trips as a kid.
I love your time capsule, enjoy!

Re: The most meticulously documented and maintained 72 Suburban in existence

Hey Vectorit, I haven't been on much lately because I am trying to get out of debt and I know talking about trucks makes me want to spend money. The projects are still moving, but at a slower pace due to not wanting to spend a lot of money on them at this time. I am hoping to come onto the forum a little more.

Re: The most meticulously documented and maintained 72 Suburban in existence

2 questions though, first, what is that thing where the original radio is supposed to be, and second, why is there that vent thing that's usually in the door jamb in the tailgate?

It was not ordered with a radio, which left room for the "pacesetter" cruise control.

On the "vent thing", I'll have to check if that was factory or a mod that went with the spare tire carrier.

Re: The most meticulously documented and maintained 72 Suburban in existence

!972 gas prices, about 30 cents a gallon for regular. By 1975 they hit 50 cents. In 1973 me and my buds could drop 5 bucks into the family 68 Ford wagon and cruise all night.

Good times, even when the cops stopped us for open containers and made us dump out all the beer.

Re: The most meticulously documented and maintained 72 Suburban in existence

So, what's the story on this Burb, I scrolled through but didn't see anything in depth. Is it yours? Are you the owner? Or is it from your family?

It's very cool, but Id like to know more about it and where its located. I promise I won't use any of the knowledge for nefarious purposes. (hell, I'm not even I know for sure what that means- or if I spelled that right)
