my deal of the day!

So I've been looking for a quadrajet with elec choke for my mild 355 and also for one for a 71 my brother bought when he returned from Afghanistan a couple weeks ago. His runs fine but had an edelbrock 650 on it and he gets gallons per mile instead of miles per gallon. I have been watching our parts board until last night I found a pair on Craigslist locally. Here's what I got.... a 71 750 from a bigblock California emissions. Been on a shelf for a couple years but in good working order. For $20 and a 800 cfm qj that the guy got on a new crate motor Carb is factory fresh never run. For $80! Got a good pair running elec chokers for 100$ and not only is one fresh its a hard to find 800! Seems like a deal to me. Thought id share for you qjet lovers out there

Wow! looks great! Can't beat the price.

I loved the Q-jet that was on my vette. I haven't gotten the one sorted out that is on my truck yet.

Hope it runs well!

Re: my deal of the day!

Great deal...especially for the new carb. Spend some TIME and do a good rebuild on the older Q-Jet and make sure that the upper plate has not warped too much. They all do, and that is fine unless they warp too much, usally from over tightening of the assembly bolts. They are not difficult to rebuild, just takes a little time.

You've got a new project! Have fun with that
