Re: 65 c10 trim
I did it on my '63. I didn't drill any holes - I used 3M double sided trim tape.
Greg.

Re: 65 c10 trim
I don't have any pictures from the instalation.
I 3m'ed a piece of solid plastic to the inside of the trim (to fill the space between the backside of the trim and the mounting surface of the trim) and then added the 3M tape to that. I spaced the pieces about every 12". The tape comes in a roll and is about 3/16" thick. The trim has been on for about 4 years now with no issues. Greg.

Re: 65 c10 trim
I did the job on my truck 2 winters ago. I am very happy with how it turned out. I bought an Assembly Manual off of Ebay to get the spacings and hole sizes to be drilled (boy that was nerve racking). We used a string and held it on both the front and back and pulled really really tight to get the line to be level. Then had a 3rd guy draw the line with a pencil. Drilled off the book and used a rattle can to paint in between. Here are some pics of before, after and during.

Re: 65 c10 trim
Anyone ever do "fake" Custom side trim with two different widths of chrome trim from the parts store? I'm thinking this would be a good budget option on a low buck truck. What are the two different widths used?

Jay - I honestly think the money and time you spend for fake trim, will lower the value of your truck. Just my .02 - Sean

Re: 65 c10 trim
Sean, I hear you. I wouldn't want it to look cheesy. Stainless looks different than chrome (especially plastic chrome). A couple of rolls of 3M-backed trim is only about 40 bucks, though, and it wouldn't permanently alter the truck at all. Repro trim is 400 bucks. Expensive when you buy a truck for not much more than that! I'll definitely keep my eyes open for used trim, but might take a shot at making some. I've found the trim in four different widths, so I need to know the widths of the factory trim to see if I can get it close.
