Question 73 chevy C 10 Heater core hoses


I bought a 73 Chevy pick up and the heater core is cut out just hoses are hanging out I want to put a new one in but I see they have the water pump plug in they have a hose going from the intake manifold to the Radiator is that where I run the new hoses when I put the new heart core in?

Yes, that's where you run your new hoses ... in place of that "bypass hose" that someone looped from the intake to the radiator.

The smaller 5/8" heater hose should run from the fitting on the intake to the lower connection on the heater core.

The larger 3/4" heater hose should run from the top connection on the heater core back to the radiator. If your radiator didn't have the provision for hooking up a heater hose, you could remove the pipe plug from the water pump and run the hose to that location instead.
