Coker Tires / Smoothies

I called Coker Tires and spoke with a rep and this is what he suggested for the wide white wall tires for that old school/rat rod look for my long bed 67 that I'm lowering 5" front and 5" rear.

215/70r 15 front
235/70r 15 back

and

rims 15x6 rear
15x7 front

Does this sound about right? I had friends telling me to go with a rim thats 15x8 front and 15x10 back. Any suggestions?

Re: Coker Tires / Smoothies

He was saying the lower the # the smaller diameter the tire will be and that will make it sit even lower. I just don't know if I want smaller tires per say? The look I like is on this truck.

Just no idea the size of those.

Hello

Did you ever figure out what size tires and rims they where?
I love that look?
What do you think the drop is on that truck?

Thanks

Re: Coker Tires / Smoothies

You may want to look at Diamond Back tires as well, might give you more size choices. Coker is mostly reproductions of vintage tires produced under licensing agreements with the original producer, Diamond Backs are vintage look sidewalls on modern technology, current model tires.

Re: Coker Tires / Smoothies

Here is my truck with the original 15x6 all the way around. As soon as I so the 5 lug conversion I will be using 5x7 front and 15x8 rear but this will give you an idea on tire sizes. Fronts are 215/70r15 and rears are 235/75r15. With these tire sizes you get a 1" drop in the front.

Re: Coker Tires / Smoothies

You'll be very hard pressed to find Wide white walls in anything wider than 235's. Unless you make your own or have them "buffed" for you... and the Coker 235's are $250-300 each in that size.
