Power steering vbelt length or part #

Just installed new power steering pump( double grove pulley) today/ mine was missing we i got my truck. Everything bolted on fine and lines up as it should. Went and got me a belt for my truck with no a/c. They gave me one 1118 mm long, but it wont go over at all, way too tight. Can anyone provide me with part number or right length on a power steering pump belt going from crank/ water pump/ overpowering. I also saw a couple of pictures of belt going from crank straight to power steering pump is it possible? Thank you very much

P.s 1984 c10 with 305/ power steering pump and bracket is off 83 c10 350

mine goes from pump to water pump to crank and I use a 7420 XL GATES thats 42", your 1118 is approx 44" so I dont know

Take the belt that won't work, back and tell them you want one an inch or 2 longer. Then just remember the number you used for future reference.
They have the belts in front of them, shouldn't be to hard to figure the correct one. The part numbers used to mean something, dunno about now.

Had to do this on the '86 when I deleted a smog pump.
