Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Work Truck [Rebadged as Chevrolet]
Well here's an update! Fourth set of wheels, third set of tires. Wheels are the stock 16x7's off of my dad's 2000 Silverado, and the tires are Milestar Telluride A/T 265/75 16's, E-Rated.

Quote:
In the state of Missouri, you can register pickup trucks for 6,000, 12,000, 18,000, or 24,000 lb load max. 18K and 24K they only issue one plate. The '88 was tagged at 18, so I only ran one plate, and a rebel flag on the back. The '92 is tagged at 12 so I have both plates.

Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Work Truck [Rebadged as Chevrolet]
As of now, all future modifications to the '88, are now on hault. Because as of now, my dad and I are planning the biggest mod we've ever done to any truck, something that's gonna require quite a bit of fabrication: A fully custom, back-to-back double-cab 4-door truck. Taking 2 single cabs, popping out the back windows, bolting them back-to-back, and going from there. I think when it's done this is going to be one hell of a truck. I posted a thread a few days ago asking if anyone has ever seen this; I never got an answer, so I guess not. But this is going to look bad ass.

Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Work Truck [Rebadged as Chevrolet]
I'm going to call this the '88 Chevy Double Cab Project. And once we start I'm going to start a whole new thread to document the entire build. Wish us luck, guys!

Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Work Truck [Rebadged as Chevrolet]
The double cab has been scrapped. The new project begins soon. Picked up a wrecked '97 Suburban today. Thread on that shall begin tomorrow. It's going to be VERY similar to Chris Johnson's "Grafted In" project. Pics for the '97, and the '98 C1500 donor, will be up tomorrow. And so it begins.

Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Work Truck [Rebadged as Chevrolet]
I guess a few updates are in order. First off, I found a few more pics of when I first got it.
And now, its present state. Did some wheel swapping. The 2000 Silverado Wheels wrapped in 265/75 16's that were on this, are now on the crew crab project. So, the Z71 wheels wrapped in 245/75 16's that were on the crew cab, are now on the '88. Now for the news that saddens me. '88 is out of commission for a good while. Rear main seal, toast. And it has a possible blown right head gasket. On top of that, transfer case is leaking.

Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Work Truck [Rebadged as Chevrolet]
Well, here's what's uh...left of the '88. In a short couple days it went from running and driving....to a frame with wheels.
First came the bed, the hitch and bumper. Then everything came loose; tank, brake lines, all fuel lines, e-brake. Then of course the front clip, and the cab. Cab and bed sitting on the crew frame. Looks funny. 88's 350, 700R4, and NP 241. And...the frame with wheels. I'll do a few more posts on this thread until there's nothing left of the '88.
