Powertrain
I have a 1968 GMC shorty with a 292 and powerglide. I need some thoughts about installing a 350 Ramjet in front of a beefed up powerslide. Diff is a 12 bolt 3 something gears. I need thoughts on the tranny-engine match up, install is not a problem. Truck to be used around town and some hwy.

Re: Powertrain
I would do a 350 and a 700r4 combo.

Re: Powertrain
Anymore, about the only thing a Powerglide is good for, is drag racing. If you don't want to go over drive, like a 700R4 or a 200-4R, get a TH350. There are a bazillion TH350's out there, and they are economical to have rebuilt. Plus when built right, they can take a lot of punishment.

Re: Powertrain
i would seriously recommend you looking into a overdrive either 700r4 or even 4l60e, myself I am going with a LS based engine and a 4l60e, great mileage and good reliable power
