Paw paw's 69 c-10
Hello everyone,
In the past I have been very successful finding useful info on this site regarding specific things about my truck that I could not find anywhere else. Which is why I have decided to join as a forum member. I am from South Carolina and the 69 truck that I intend on rebuilding is my late Paw paw's. He willed it to me about a year and a half ago (boy how the time flies by when as you get older). My intentions for this truck will be to fully restore it with the best of my abilities and financial provisions. I have already set aside the money for a full rotor conversion just in case someone wants to slam on brakes in front of me. I would hate for my truck to come to an end via some idiot. Here are some pictures. Last edited by keepitsimple; 02-08-2010 at 09:13 AM. |

Re: Paw paw's 69 c-10
to the board from Mid-MO!!!
It's always nice to have a great story tied to an old truck, and even better when it's related to family. The '69 looks to be in great shape for being 40 years old and will make a great resto project. Be sure to start a project build thread when you begin to work on the stepper. Bolt by bolt, and piece by piece, it doesn't matter how long it takes, or how much you put into it; your Paw Paw will just be happy in knowing the truck is being taken care of and loved just like he did. BTW, be sure to check out the South Carolina section of the board as the members in that area meet rather often and are having a Spring Fling within the next month or so. You will not find a better group of people than the ones associated with this site.

Re: Paw paw's 69 c-10
Thanks man.
I will be sure to do a build thread on this one. I have built many many imports before and never did a build thread (kinda didnt have time). But, for this truck I will. I means a lot more to me than the little cars. |

Welcome from NW Washington.
Good luck on the project. It's always more fun when it's personal. I'm sure Paw Paw is looking down and smiling. Enjoy.

Re: Paw paw's 69 c-10
Wow! It has been a very long time since I posted up my Green Machine.
Now it is time to get started on the project and make my Pawpaw proud. I have been trying to put aside some spare cash to fund some of the modifications I have planned. Looks like i've got a couple grand to throw at it. So, I should be posting up some pictures and build progress in the build section soon. |

Re: Paw paw's 69 c-10
Well, the progress on the green Machine has been slow. Most of my money set aside has went to the kids and firearms haha! Not to mention getting another house. Geez I cant wait until things slow down a little.
My recent purchases are as follows: Summit Racing Bluprinted distributor Flowtech long tube headers 350 vortech heads Summit racing 2.5 steel baffeled mufflers 18" Toyota Steelies 73 1 1/4" spindles and rotors ( I need to drill these things and get my 6 bolts in them) 3.07 posi rear end I ended up rebuilding the carb (arhh) new brackets for the alternator mount So, it's a work in progress. I am really enjoying driving this truck more and more. My background was mostly 300+hp miata's and imports. The old truck is taking some getting use too haha Here are some updates: 18" steelies My other addiction |
