Question Help Please!!

Professional, backyard and whomever

Problem is with my 96 GMC, leat I think it is a problem. I am noticing an extra ordinary amount of fluid coming out of the drain tap for the heater/AC. It doesn't appear to have any antifreeze in it, just the normsal very cold clear water.

What is bothering me in the last few weeks I lost about a quart or so of coolant. In two years I lost less than that. I don't see coolant in the oil and no leaky hoses or the radiator.

It just seems to be the AC drip part. Could the Heater core be leaking, but not drip out antifreeze/coolant?

Am I worring over nothing.?

I don't have a pressuse tester to test the system, and it is not running hot.

Any ideas.

I'd hate to be doing the 50 mile trip to and from school after work Monday or Tuesday and have it crap out on me.

Thanks folks.

Pull the sparkplugs, if you are getting coolant into the chambers you should see a green tint on the elctrodes/straps. Good luck, crazyL

A buddy of mine has two 96 chevy truck and had also noticed coolant loss, but no leak. Come to find out the first Vortec engines had a problem with the intake manifold gaskets. He had to have the intakes pulled and new gaskets in both his Tahoe and Silverado.

Bill, I know you are'nt going to want to do this, but.....taste the discharge from the A/C drip...if there's ANY anti-freeze in it , you will taste it, even if you can't see it with the eye. Old shade tree diagnostics!!!

Well....I Hope I got it. Finally found a leak in the lower radiator hose. Guess until today it leaked when it wanted to.
As a side note, I am glad I don't do this for a livi8ng with these newer ones. Dang it was like major saurgery just to remove a hose.

Please someone kill the designer of the factor hose clamp (No offense engineer friends)

Thanks for all the help. So fer no leaks
