Hub Cap Questions

I have a 1964 C20 pick up. I am running 8 lug 16 inch wheels with a 73/87 front disc brake conversion.
I am currenlty running 56 chevy bel-air wheel covers with thru bolts with chrome acorns.
I purchased a used set of white hubcaps with the red center circle with a white bow tie. (pic attached)
These dont fit on the wheel, just a bit too small. Does anyone know if I can get these in a larger size to fit on my current 16 inch wheels.

Thanks,
Glenn

Re: Hub Cap Questions

No, you will not find any like that which fit an 8 lug 16" wheel. Can't tell from the front if your nice "used" caps have a ring or flange on the back, but you could possibly attach some clips to your wheels to hold those caps in place. the fit will not be perfect, but it might work. I've been thinking of attempting this same thing on my '62 since the earliest (oldest) caps to fit my 16" nub wheels are from the 70's.

Re: Hub Cap Questions

So if I am understanding you correctly there are no caps that will fit my 62 if I want rims larger than 15 inch? And also the only way to get 4x4 caps would be for me to bore out the front of two 15 inch and stay with 15 inch rims? Thanks everyone

No, not exactly. 16" wheels are later wheels and as far as I know, none came with spring clips for the older style flange-type hubcaps. The bumps, or nub diameter on a later 8 lug 16" wheel is also too large for a regular (flange-less) early cap. To answer your question, two larger sized wheels were optional for our era trucks: 17.5" and 19" ( I think) and both came with caps, but I'm not sure if they were available for both 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. These will also be difficult to find.
