Trying to bring back my OG molding back to life any ideas

my truck has all the molding to it and i want to know if you guys have any tips or products that will bring back the shine its the black one not the wood grain

Strip it with drain cleaner, polish, then repaint the black stripe and coat it with something to protect the finish.

Check this guy out. Amazing how good it looks for 45 year old trim!
