96 Silverado won't start

My daily driver won't start. 96 vortec 5.7 l 1500 4x4. 290k on the truck, motor was rebuilt at 180k. Fuel pump comes on when I cycle the key, used a gauge to find it it is cranking at 61psi. I put a new battery on, tested for spark, which I got good blue spark, and nothing. I put a new starter on, no dice.

It cranks fast, then slow, then wont really crank, then back to cranking fast again. It coughs here and there but doesnt start. I poured 2 gallons of gas into it just in case it was low on gas.

Any suggestions?

Good to see you know where my avatar is from!

When you said you had 'good blue spark', were you seeing that on one of the plugs or all?
Have you ever changed out the distributor? They are known for wearing out.

Good to hear!

Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature.
