Tubular control arms?

I am rebuilding front end of my 89 c1500 sw it has a 5-7 drop with flip and c-notch done already but I want to put tubular control arms in but all I can find is djm that either lower 2 or 3 inches and there are not cheap. Any ideas on were to find some? I bought a set for my 67 camaro on ebay for under $300 early this year but cant find any that fit my truck.

Re: Tubular control arms?

DJM is pretty much the only player for drop arms for these trucks. For a 5-7, though, you don't want them. They're not designed to be used with drop springs and when they are, you'll run into some serious lower balljoint issues. I ran 3" arms and 2" springs for a long time. I caught my balljoints before they failed, but I know of a few people who had their balljoints fail on them while driving when running the same setup.

So I would have to run stock springs with drop spindals and djm control arms to make that work then.

Drop spindles and DJM drop pocket a-arms are not meant to work together.
The lower pocket of the a-arm will be too close to the ground.

My crew has drop arms and to do it all over again i would get spindles. I mean they are ok and the ride is fine but spindles are cheaper and much easier to do.

Like lolife and Scott said, you DO NOT use drop arms with drop spindles. The spring pocket will be so close to the ground that you'll be popping reflectors. Drop control arms are to be used with stock springs and stock spindles. It would be best to completely get the arms out of your head. Go with a combination of drop spindles and drop springs.
