Best radiator for a 6.2L

Okay so the radiator in my 85 Suburban 6.2L is leaking again. I had it repaired once but now that its back I just want to swap it out with a new one before I head across the US. I want to know what you guys run or prefer. Brands, warranties, number of rows, quality of build, and price. I don't want a cheap fleabay one but I don't wanna she'll out my whole paycheck. Let me know guys.

I have replaced a few radiators myself so I feel plenty confident on doing it. Just have never had to but one this big before.

Re: Best radiator for a 6.2L

Well the soddering on the fins attached to the side resiviors is getting thin with age. Someone who can just re do that part and straighten fins and clean it out good will cost some but will last another 30 years

That's not what my problem is. I have a hole in the top of the driver side of the radiator where the upper hose connects as well as an enlarging crack down that whole side. Have had it resolderd by a local shop twice now.

Everytime I go to picknpull I always keep an eye out. No luck yet. I'm only thinking a new one because I'll be going cross country this summer through the hotter states down south and will possibly be pulling a trailer.

Re: Best radiator for a 6.2L

Search the OEM discounters online first for a genuine GM new (should be copper) radiator.

autopartstomorrow.com
oewarehouse.com
oehq.com
rockauto.com
gmpartsdirect.com

Agreed, but have also heard where some cool better, and have heard a good review about the one i posted. I'm just confused as to which to get.. Copper/brass or Aluminum...

Searched all of them, but really only found the Spectra Premium that i posted from Summit, i will however be ordering it from Rock Auto if i choose to go with it over the Aluminum.

Re: Best radiator for a 6.2L

Yah the aluminum can cool better because they can have more rows and still be lighter.
