This unit was plugged in to the MSD 6T on my 79 Malibu. I sold the MSD box and the buyer didn't want to pay the extra for the rev control. it has a 5500 chip in it currently. It was working when last used.

"This rev limiter is designed exclusively for the MSD 6T and 6TN Ignition Controls. These ignitions share the same output and circuits of the other 6A Series, but have a few spe*cial features of their own. The 6T and 6TN are equipped with a special 4-wire connector to plug in an external rev limiter. The rev limiter has a special 4-wire connector that plugs into the MSD 6 T and 6TN Ignition box. The Soft Touch is a very smooth rev limiting action that “holds” the engine at the selected rpm limit without backfires, extreme roughness or engine damage. The rpm limit is adjusted with plug-in modules."
