hello from AZ.
hi my name is marcel,....this is my first truck its a 61 chevy 1/2 apache..of a guy of C.L for $1300..running but not safe to go on freeway or stuff. but after new master, brakelines, all the wiring..new intake and all the gasket's for the 77 350....if got her TDC..and timed ....had to readjust the weber 4 barrel(gas.air mix) and the idle addjustet. i put a new ragjoint in...and thinking about power steering and dics...BUT..like so many of us...i m on a budget......and broke !!!! well,i know, i need to do the front and rear bearings..and wheel cylinders ...and ,and ,and.....but thats what i love about this hobby or passion if you like....you can always just go out to the shop, garage or covert parking space.. and get away from everything .
and in my case,i lived in germany allmost all my life...and the classic car thing was not really my thing.but when i moved to the US that all changed. 10 jeahrs ago i didnt know how to do my own oil change ... and by now i have build 4 cars i bike and now a truck. i got infected thanx to my co worker mike. i just now became a member, never had a truck. i wanna thank all of you for all that information you put out ...helps me every day!!! thanx |

Welcome from Sunny Miami, FL! sounds like you got a good grasp on your truck already and by the pictures, it looks pretty nice. By the way, if I can say so, the forum name you chose is great!!!

Re: hello from AZ.
I wouldnt use the jeep springs. Theyre worthless if you wanna carry anything in the bed. I cut my rear springs and it rights soo much nier than when i had the jeep springs. You have alot of guys from az on here. Im sure youll get to know them

Re: hello from AZ.
Willkömmen Marcel.
In the engine pic with the manifold off, is the middle port plugged? It's hard for me to tell from the angle. If it is you should remove the manifold and clean them out. That port supplies hot exhaust gas to the fuel/air mix from the carb. Helps keep the fuel a vapor. On my 283 both ports were clogged. It wasn't hard to clean out while I changed manifold and carb.
