4x4 swap same as 2 wheel?

I have been asking 'bout swaping 73-87 stuff under my 66' and was wondering if I could do the same with 73-87 4x4 stuff and what "troubles" would i run into that i might not with a 2 wheel swap?

Is your '66 an original 4x4 or is it a 2wd and you are you wanting to convert it to a 4x4?
