Parking Brake Bracket Measurements
Truck inspection is in Feb. and a parking brake is required. The PO removed the cross member portion of the parking brake to make room for the TH350. I'm going to make a replacement, just need 4 measurements. If you have easy access to a frame, would you fill in the measurements on my layout.
I have a piece of 16 gauge steel, I'm debating if it's thick enough for this job ... any thoughts?

Re: Parking Brake Bracket Measurements
I can get you the measurements for 'D' tomorrow. I used to have the other parts, but someone decided they needed them more than I did.
No, 16ga. is not going to be heavy enough. Bracket D is 1/8" and the other pieces are either 3/16" or 1/4". As an alternative, you could change your truck over to the '66-'72 parking brake cable assembly.

Re: Parking Brake Bracket Measurements
Not sure if 4x4 is the same but I don't think it would be too different. Same travel at the handle and same travel at the drums? I'll take a look at mine in the am if you like. Chris

Re: Parking Brake Bracket Measurements
Thanks for all the input and photos.
I was contemplated either putting in a Lokar universal cable kit or changing over to a '66 style set up, but everything is still there under the truck, except those few chunks of metal. Just need to cut them to size, drill a few holes, and I think I'll be in business

Re: Parking Brake Bracket Measurements
Just took some measurements and my "a" bar (which is stock) is 18-1/2". "d" is 8-1/2" overall with a 3-1/2" slot for travel of the "a" bar. "c" bar I had to fab out of 1-1/2" x 1/4" flat stock and is 17-1/2" overall length with holes drilled at 1-1/4" increments from the end that the parking brake cables attach to for adjustment. Mine doesn't have the "b" bar as I didn't know that there was supposed to be one there but works great just the same. Hope this helps you out. BTW this is off of the 4x4 version. I know that my "primary cable" from the brake lever down is a different but think that most of the other parts are very similar. Chris
