Dash cutting question.
I know this will make a lot of you cringe but I'm going to cut the dash of my 91 k5. What is the best tool to use to cut it. Cut off wheel, dremmel saws all? Also is a 91 new enough that I can get a harness so that I don't have to hard wire?

Re: Dash cutting question.
As for cutting I can't help you but for the harness the PO used one in my 85 so you shouldent have any trouble finding one.

Re: Dash cutting question.
I think there needs to be a bit more info. Are you cutting the whole dash out and replacing it with something else? Are you thansplanting it to something else? Are youcutting some of it to install something?

Re: Dash cutting question.
A dremel with a cutoff wheel will work best and yeah, you can obtain the wiring harness adapter no problem from a stereo shop, online or Walmart/AutoZone/oreilly/etc.

Re: Dash cutting question.
Why would you need to cut the dash on a 91? should have a 1.5 radio so all you need is a plastic install kit, and yes you can buy a harness so you dont have to cut the factory plug.
I always used a little air recip saw, works great.

Re: Dash cutting question.
I don't take delivery of it until tomorrow morning. This is my first experience with a 91 model square body so there is a lot I don't know about it. My last square body was an 83 swb.

Re: Dash cutting question.
I recently installed a removable face stereo in one of these trucks for a friend, I used a dremel with a cutting disc with good results, it was a plain jane dash so I didn't feel bad about cutting it.
