Part identification needed...
In the process of stripping down my '65 C20 and I came upon this strange bracket above the gas pedal. Can any of you guru's clue me in as to its purpose?

I can tell ya that's not out of a 65 truck,that's a later style gas pedal assy....possibly in the 80's I think....

I put a 1972 cable throttle in my truck. As received, the bracket looked like this:
The stuff above the pedal pivot is used for cruise control and other electrical or mechanical switches. The TH400 was even more elaborate, and never versions have even more stuff on them. I unbolted and sliced off the stuff that wasn’t needed: What was left looks like this: I’m sure you could do the same thing with your setup if you want to simplify and retain it.
