Looking for 3.08 and TH350...
I have a 3.73 with a 2 speed in my truck that I will gladly trade for a 3.08 and TH350. My commute is too long to be running this low of gear if anyone close wants to swap. I don't really want to buy additional parts and store these because I don't have room. These parts are in my truck now and they run fine. The truck has 114,000 miles, they are the original parts and I can't vouch for the past 33 years, but I can tell you for the last month that I've owned the truck that these parts work just fine. I would just rather gear it up and add a gear to the transmission.

By 2 speed you mean your trans is a 2 speed (powerglide)...???
Are you wanting to trade entire rear ends or just gear sets? I've got a recently rebuilt TH350 with less than a thousand miles on it for sale if you're interested, has the heavy duty clutch pak and comes with new 2200 stall converter, $300.... swapped it out for a 700R4...

It's a 2 speed Power Glide.
I'd just as soon swap out the entire rear end. I think that would be alot easier. Are the C10 axles splined the same? I have 6 lug and would like to keep it 6 lug.

I agree that it would be easier to swap the entire assembly.... however, I don't believe the axles will interchange... pretty sure 70 was the last year for 6 lug.
Would be nice if you could move up to 71-72 style 5 lug all the way around, and front discs... Other option is to go with a 700R4 and keep your 3.73 gears...

If I just change the transmission I would still have the same final drive and would still run a higher rpm. I could actually live with the Power Glide but the rpm drop from 1st to 2nd would be pretty large. I'm not too sure about the 700R4 as I've read alot about reliability issues and I know TH350's attached to a pretty much stock 350c.i. motor are just about bullet proof.
I've also thought about an overdrive from Gear Vendors since they are right down the street but I don't know if they have anything or if I could afford that kinda gadgetry. Switching to 5 lug is an option I'm open to but I have a line on some 8" rims that'll look pretty cool color matched. I'm sure I can find 8" 5 lug steel rims though, so that really wouldn't change much other than I can get the 6 lug for pretty cheap.
