350 flywheel and clutch
I am putting a 350 in my 65 chevy truck that I am restoring. I went to put the clutch on it today and the clutch was the wrong one. I have a flywheel that takes a 10 inch clutch instead of the 11 inch. I then noticed that my new starter was not going to work either because the bell housing from the 65 takes a starter that bolts in the end of the starter. SO my question is will I be ok with the 10 inch clutch?. I am using the orginal bell housing with the 3 speed transmission. As far as the starter goes do I need one from a 65 chevy truck to work with my set up?

Re: 350 flywheel and clutch
a 11" clutch would be better IMO, but the 10" will probably work OK. You will need a starter that bolts to the bellhousing. A block mounted starter will not work with that bellhousing.

Re: 350 flywheel and clutch
Not sure the bellhousing mounted starter will work with that small flywheel, either.
IMO I'd opt for the larger flywheel/clutch setup so everything will line up and work. |

Re: 350 flywheel and clutch
I am using the starter and bellhousing and flywheel that were together on another engine I had. So it should work like before
