What ignition switch to use?

I'm deep into wiring my 56. The wiring harness I am using has two plugs for the ignition switch. The column I am using does not have an igntion switch so what year GM switch can I use that accepts the 2 plugs?. I'd rather not cut the plugs off and use terminal rings if I don't have to.

Re: What ignition switch to use?

the plugs that come with the aftermarket wiring harnesses are made for gm steering column ignition switch connections.
usually the wires are terminated but not attached so that you can use the plug of your choice
one plug is for ignition, the other is for turn switch.
if you use a dash mount switch you need to reconfigure the wires to your switch

Re: What ignition switch to use?

I've looked at a few sources and can't find a pigtail that will go from the plug on your harness to the dash mounted ignition switch.

I'd call Painless and see what they say to do.
