Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
I think I'm gonna go a total of six inches to get the 22.5's with tires under the truck.

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
There is a guy in the valley that has close to 75 to 100 of those trucks 73 all the way to 91....TONS of complete trucks that are not all rusted out...every color combo you could think of ..reg cabs, crews, blazers, suburbans, duallys... and there is EVERYTHING out there ...almost all of the trucks have rats (big blocks) in them also...I stopped by there this summer while i was checking on one of our jobs....He has everything from factory tachs (73-79 font) and even new style font tachs 80-86...clips chrome, complete interiors,bumpers..etc...ALSO front and rear style bumper and the corrrect smooth style you need for the 73-80 and brackets.........like I said TONS of "complete squarebody trucks" and half of them are duallys ....It would be a one stop shop for you...I was blown away It was a little goldmine....I have his number.and he's a great guy... call me... you got my number.........I will be out there tomorrow early afternoon checking on another reg cab 75 dually to buy I found hiding (with 22k orig miles)

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
Quick question for everyone. Does anyone know a part number off the top of their head for a set of 2" lift blocks for the 1 ton's? I recall I found some somewhere but now I can't remember for the life of me where.

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
any 2" block that is 2 1/2" wide & not aluminum, our crews are heavy & carry heavy weight. zone offroad has 2" blocks for $29 (pn zonu3020)

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
I ordered new tailgate light lenses, but I cant; figure out the wiring for the life of me. I also discovered that one of my upper cab running lights has a missing contact in the socket and needs replacing.
Thanks for the info on the lift blocks, I'll be picking up a set. |

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
So I took another look at the wiring and it seems that two of the five lights work. I may clip it all apart and put new wires into the tailgate. While it was apart I did notice one of the lights had completely rusted apart so I'll be looking for one new light to replace that.

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
if 2 of 5 work, it's most likely the lights. one of the mounting screws is a ground, which attaches to the light via a metal bar & a plug-most problems start here (rust). i had 3 of 5 on mine, after cleaning, had all 5, then found replacements lites for a couple dollars

Also I found out the aluminum trim on the fender pieces have broken bolts... I'm going to try and separate the bolts from the trim and replace them, I'd like to keep this truck looking vintage. |

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
BTW, What are you guys doing for floor mats in these trucks? I can't seem to find anything that looks like a decent fit.

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
front ones are a dime a dozen, but rears can be tough. i got my rear at the wrecking yard out of a 07 chev crew. newer model gm & ford crew rear mats are usally full width 1 piece, & easily trimmable to fit

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
Are you implying that I can grab mats from any full size truck and the fronts will usually work? I was hoping to find something similar to a WeatherTech style mat to keep the snow under control.

Re: C30 Camper Special Owner Needs Advice.
my fronts i went with aftermarket mud holders. the backs can be hard to find in a 1 piece( i like the one piece), but most new crews have them. i'm sure you could find some nice ones at a price, i was just throwing out my low buck approach
