Here's my new dash. I custom made it and it has a curve outward to it. It's not the typical flat dash. I used Omega gauges. We also added the chrome tilt steering column.

How did you make it? Are you an upholsterer?

Can't see the curve well enough to see if I like it but compared to the one I had on my 69 it's looks a lot better.

No we painted with base coat clear coat then wet sanded it with 2500 and 3000. Then I buffed it till I seen myself

So,, you used a solid bar of aluminum and milled/machined it? Still trying to figure out how you shaped it to fit.

btw: great job on guage panel and interior mods.

Just to help... Original poster's "dash" statement is equal to your "gauge panel" statement

He is talking about his Gauge Cluster panel...

not the dash pad in the picture;...

Yes you are correct it is my " gauge panel " some times I'm not politically correct

We made it from aluminum. The face plate is .125 thick and we cut the top and bottom returns on my cnc router. Then I mig welded the returns on. I took a old GAUGE PANEL

and cut it out to where my new gauges would fit through. Then I bolted it from the back to hold the two together. Luckly we had the column out because it had to move foward about two inches to allow for the curve of the panel. We remove the chrome insets behind the headlight swicth and windshiled wipper, because with them on the arm on the headlight switch was too short. I left it short around the edges to allow me to use the factor screw holes. Hope this helps on how I did it. I have a template just case anybody needs one.

Now I understand!!! I noticed what looked like a slight curve on the dash pad so figured that was what EZ was referring to.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
