Has anyone one this site post any threads on how to rewire your truck or how to wire under the dash. My wires melted and need replacing. And also any budget friendly ideas on how to fix the issue.

Junk yard if your lucky
search /read the wire diagrams

pull out the bad, label as you go
then you know what to grab

Wiring diagrams are in my sig.

How to fix depends on how roached the harness is.
If it's 3-5 wires then solder and heat-shrink one at a time till the damage is cut away and repaired.

hatzie - Did you scan all of those yourself? That's a lot of scanning lol Great of you to share those. I have them in my library and often thought of scanning mine but it seems you've beat me to it.

trivon56 - the first thing I would question is why your wires melted before you simply replace them. Did you bypass your fusible links?

I am not really sure. The guy left a lot of things wired hot and then used speaker wire. The under dash was just all messed up. It ran for awhile and then one day the battery died and then I charged the battery. After I charged the battery I started the truck it ran and once I cut the truck off it kept running. I finally made a mistake and shorted my battery and it cut off. I knew earlier when it wouldn't start I smelled something burning in the cab or it smelled like something burned. I then looked under the dash and saw all the wires melted. Not the best of days.

All 37,000 pages. 12x34 Sheetfeed and 4 core processors are a wonderful thing. Never would've done them with a flatbed.

Geez. Ain't previous owners fun? Sounds like they butchered the engine harness by bypassing the Fusible Links too. I'd Start yard picking for a rust bucket with a good harness.

That's painful to look at.

Some folks should have their tool box card revoked.

I am going thru the same thing with my truck. Wires melted together I will go to the yard and pull a harness fr a truck there Xmas have my mechanic rewire it for me. I smelled burnt wires on way home one day. Previous owner did some funky stuff under my column as well.
