HELP PLEASE: What parts from a 73-80 C10 will work on a 70 C10? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi All,

Since seeing I am very far away from the US and shipping parts to me is a little pricey there are several late model C10's (73-80) available in South Africa and a lot of them are owned by guys who started to restore them as a project and never finished.

So now they parting the trucks, what parts would work on the 70 c10 of mine?

I know items like the doors and cab is different, is the loading bin the same, what about suspension as I understand some models of the 73-80 had disc brakes from factory.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, so looks like brake stuff will work.

The whole front crossmember and brakes will bolt right in. You can also use the steering gear box and linkage.

thanks steelhorse. I have asked him if he has the front suspension and if the items are disc brakes.

I don't know about there but here all 73-87 C10s have disc brakes.

got me there, I have only ever been interested in the 67-72 and wont really know but I assume down here it would be the same. At least now I know so when I see these items for sale I will purchase. For me to import the disc brake kit its all good but because they are heavy items will cost me a fortune to ship.

Post a pic of the "loading bin"(we call it a bed) if you would.On the earlier models the beds differ in some countries from what we get in the US.It may or may not work.Also here we got a Loading bin with the fenders inside or the other had them outside(they may be called skirts or something else there.Do you get both in SA?

Do you want to see the bed of the late model or the 67-72? We also had the normal beds and the step sides.
