Moser direct-fit axle shafts question?!

I have a '64 C10 with the 12 bolt rear end. I want to rebuild the axle including replacing the axle shafts. Does anyone if these replacement shafts from Moser will work: http://www.moserengineering.com/axle...spline-30.html

They are listed for '65 through '69 trucks, but I thought it was all the same from '63 through mid-'70? Moser does not list axle shafts specific to '64... however, the specs should be identical right?

The '63 and '64 12 bolts are not included because those years had the 17 spline axles and corresponding spider gears. The axle lengths are the same from '63 thru early '70. To use those replacement axles, you will have to change the side spider gears to 30 spline units.

Yep, and after 69 the length of the shafts increased by 3/4" on each side to match the widened track width of the disk brakes

ECE has the correct axle conversion kit with spider gears.

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"

Re: Moser direct-fit axle shafts question?!

Ahhh, that makes sense. I knew I could count on you guys to give me the straight answer.

I talked to ECE today about their conversion axles. While they are indeed listed for '63-69, Stan told me what you guys told me: that a spider gear change might be required in the earlier axles. He didn't mention that they carried the spider gears though...
