700R4 Refresh

So the 72 Blazer is going to be getting a TBI/700R4 upgrade. The donor is coming out of a running '89 truck. I'd like it to last a long time, though, since it's a lot of work to pull a transmission on a 4X4.

Are there any pieces I should look at replacing while it's out?

As for the TV cable, I've heard it needs to be adjusted exactly. Since it's going to be on the same engine/trans from the donor, can I just mark it before I remove it and reinstall it in the same place?

Thanks.
